Three Approaches, One Kingdom Goal: Advancing God's Work in Indonesia

In a time when Indonesia, like many nations, is being stirred by global conflicts—especially the ongoing war in Palestine—God is quietly and powerfully at work through different kinds of people, each playing a vital role in advancing His Kingdom.

 1. The Intercessors: Quiet Warriors on Their Knees

As rallies erupted across the nation in solidarity with Palestine, many Indonesian believers responded—not with protest signs, but with heartfelt prayers. They pleaded with God for peace in the Middle East, and just as urgently, for peace in their own homeland. These intercessors knew that war in one part of the world could stir division in another. Their cries to God were not only for justice overseas but for unity, safety, and revival here at home.

 Their prayers weren’t in vain.

 2. The Evangelists: Sharing Peace in the Midst of Tension

Meanwhile, another group took to the streets—not to march, but to lovingly share the gospel. In communities where tensions were rising and pro-Palestinian sentiments were becoming increasingly politicized, these gospel workers offered a different message: peace through Jesus Christ.

They weren’t seeking to debate or provoke; they were listening, connecting, and bringing light into places where frustration and confusion were growing. Their presence reminded people that true peace doesn’t come from politics or protests, but from a Savior who offers forgiveness and reconciliation.

 3. The Catalyst: A Voice in High Places

In one city of over a million people on the island of Java, a large pro-Palestinian rally was planned. The city buzzed with anticipation. But for one seasoned Kingdom catalyst—who had spent years building trust with local officials—this was concerning. August is Indonesia’s month of independence, a time to foster unity and national pride. A large protest could easily fracture communities and stir up hostility toward the central government—and toward Christians.

 So, he made a call.

With wisdom and humility, he expressed concern to the city’s high-ranking leaders. His tone was respectful, but his words were clear: this rally, though well-intentioned, could damage the unity they had worked so hard to build. After consideration, the local government decided not to support the event publicly. Without their endorsement, the rally shrank into a small gathering at a local mosque.

It was a quiet victory. One that didn’t make the news, but surely made heaven rejoice.

God’s Kingdom: A Symphony of Roles

One prays.

One shares the gospel.

One advises local government.

Each one plays a different part. But together, they are working toward the same goal: that God’s Kingdom would come and His will be done—on earth as it is in heaven, even in the complex landscape of Indonesia.

Let’s celebrate these different approaches. Let’s encourage one another to stay faithful in the role God has given us.

Because whether we’re on our knees, on the streets, or in the offices of power… we are all part of the same Kingdom story.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” – Matthew 5:9
